Surgical scars should be well healed before dry needling the scar or the immediate surrounding tissue.
Consult with the surgeon if the patient is still under the care of the surgeon, which I am guessing at 8 weeks post surgery he still is.
Continue with all other scar management options to optimize the healing and tissue quality.
